The Fear of Getting Lost

Daily writing prompt
What’s a fear you’ve overcome — and how did you do it?

The childhood fear of being lost — in the forest, in the grocery store.

I have steadily overcome this fear over the course of my whole life by way of my curious nature overruling it. At some point, through the power of disorienting art mostly, I realized that getting lost can be extremely fun.

Being lost means becoming observant, resourceful, ponderous, willing to explore and by necessity gather information, take bold actions, learn new things, and so on.

It is simple but true: the best way to beat fear is exposure.

Be curious. Get lost. Become more.
