Realizing the Tapestry of Interdependence

Daily writing prompt
What is one way you have grown this year?

So far this year, by way of going out of my way to read all sorts of classic books – including the Odyssey & The Bible – and by continuously following my intuition in terms of my own artistic pursuits, I have come to many manifolding realizations in 2026.

One big one is that we are all part of one big tapestry.

Part of me already knew this but great & ancient literature reinforces it.

What do I mean by being part of a tapestry?

Everything we do contributes to everyone else’s experience; every single person’s fate affects all the others. {This goes for animals & plants too}

We are all a part of the picture, yet no one can see the whole thing.

Whether we realize it or not, we are all interdependently part of each other’s lives. This is both *mundane* {someone had to farm that food at your table} and *mystical* {your language & behavior is influencing myriad others in ways neither party can comprehend}.

So it would be best to start treating our nations, communities, and environs as such — with respect, care, and a long-term outlook for the finished piece of art we are making together.

Another related symbol worthy of study: Indra’s Net.

Indra’s net (also called Indra’s jewels or Indra’s pearlsSanskrit Indrajāla, Chinese: 因陀羅網) is a metaphor used to illustrate the Buddhist philosophical concepts of Śūnyatā (emptiness), pratītyasamutpāda (dependent origination), and perfect interpenetration.
